Helping the homeless this Christmas

By the Beresfords Marketing Team - 21st December 2015

Whilst many of us are busy decorating our homes and organising the festive feast for Christmas Day, there are some who have no place to call home. To help maintain the season of giving, Beresfords recently worked alongside The Salvation Army to invite local rough sleepers in Romford to enjoy a free Christmas dinner with all the trimmings.

Thanks to local market traders and Wickenden Meats, nearly 40 local homeless people attended The Salvation Army's Romford Centre for a traditional Christmas meal. Beresfords were on hand to help serve the festive fare and also provided free pairs of gloves as part of the toiletry bags that were given out on the day.

Beresfords Marketing Manager, Nicki Treffers, commented: "This was a great way to mark the end of our charity involvement for the year. We are very proud to work with The Salvation Army and it was very humbling to see those less fortunate enjoy the festive food. We have been involved in quite a few causes over the last year and it is something that we look forward to continuing with into 2016."

Dave Chuck, The Salvation Army Community Manager, said: "It's through the work of such generous donors such as Beresfords and our wonderful volunteers that we can bring a little piece of Christmas to those genuinely without a home again this year. We count our blessings as we head towards Christmas and share these blessings with all who are lonely, suffering or need help."
