By Megan Fleming - 27 October 2021

The frosty mornings, pretty villages decked out in twinkling lights, Christmas carols, cosy fires, and the smell of pine, are just some of the reasons Christmas is a great time to visit the Cotswolds.

Christmas is such a magical time here in the Cotswolds. If you love being in a traditional Christmas setting, surrounded by beautiful lights and festive cheer then you won’t want to miss visiting the spectacular chocolate box villages dotted around the region. With a hot chocolate in hand and cinnamon in the air, there’s no better place to be at this wonderful time of year.

With green rolling hills, fresh air, country pubs, honey-stone villages, independent businesses, and eateries galore, the Cotswolds really is somewhere special. If you’re yet to plan your 2021 getaway, now is the perfect time to plan a special staycation and experience Christmas in the Cotswolds.

Countryside Breaks is perfect if you are looking for an idyllic escape, as it offers two quaint holiday cottages in the Cotswolds. Lorien Cottage sleeps 4 and has 2 double bedrooms each boasting king-size beds with 300 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets. Yew Tree cottage sleeps 7 and is idyllic in every way. With a double room, a twin room and a family room which sleeps 3 it really is a home away from home. Both are local to amenities, gastro pubs and shopping, and have private gardens for your furry friends to enjoy – making them perfect for family holidays or a getaway with your friends.
