Writtle
Situated just to the west of Chelmsford, Writtle has been described as ‘one of the loveliest villages in England’.
At its centre, the Green with its duckpond is surrounded by wonderful character properties. Wander just off the Green and you will find the picturesque All Saints Church.
Although the village is small, there are plenty of amenities with a doctor’s surgery, dentist, small supermarkets and a post office and quaint village pubs and independent restaurants. Writtle is also home to Writtle Agricultural College, one of the oldest and largest specialist colleges supporting careers focused on Business and the "Green Industries.”
To the east, the A12 will take you south to the M25 at J28 and to the north to Suffolk and Norfolk. The A414 on the southern tip of Writtle on the other hand will take you directly onto the M11 at J7 about 14 miles away with Stansted Airport about another 12 miles further on.
For those considering living in Writtle there is a wide variety of property to choose from. Its close proximity to Chelmsford’s facilities offers many opportunities. Socialising and shopping on one hand and the rural surroundings on the other, including such attractions as Hylands House and its 574 acre park.
