Writtle
Situated just to the west of Chelmsford, Writtle has been described as ‘one of the loveliest villages in England’.
At its centre, the Green with its duckpond is surrounded by wonderful character properties. Wander just off the Green and you will find the picturesque All Saints Church.
Although the village is small, there are plenty of amenities with a doctor’s surgery, dentist, small supermarkets and a post office and quaint village pubs and independent restaurants. To the east, the A12 will take you south to the M25 at J28 and to the north to Suffolk and Norfolk. The A414 on the southern tip of Writtle on the other hand will take you directly onto the M11 at J7 about 14 miles away with Stansted Airport about another 12 miles further on.
