House prices vary across the different suburbs in Havering. In the well-known suburbs of Upminster and Hornchurch, the overall price of houses grew by 3% in the last 12 months, averaging at £568,776. The majority of purchases were for semi-detached properties, selling for an average price of £621,841. Terraced properties achieved an average price of £509,695 , whereas detached homes sold for an average price of £771,798.
The property prices were considerably more affordable in Gidea Park and Harold Wood areas. The former saw a growth of 4% with average overall house prices reaching £407,638 , whereas the latter averaged at a slightly higher £434,002. The most popular properties in Gidea Park last year were semi-detached homes, sold for an average of £505,808 , closely followed by terraced homes, averaging at £445,937. Harold Wood, on the other hand, saw an opposite trend, with the most sold properties being terraced homes, with an average price of £395,864 , followed by semi-detached homes, with an average of £464,500.
Flats and apartments across the Havering borough offer excellent opportunities for both first-time buyers and investors.
Over the last 12 months, the flats in Upminster and Hornchurch areas grew in value by 6%, selling for an average overall price of £329,601. In Gidea Park, the average apartment price was £230,182, whereas Hornchurch achieved a slightly higher average of £245,066.
