Gidea Park v Hampstead – which estate would you choose

In the early 20th Century leading architects of the time, including those who were involved in some of the original ‘garden suburbs’ such as Hampstead, were invited to compete in designing individual detached cottage style houses in Gidea Park which were built between 1910 and 1912. These homes formed the Exhibition Estate. With soaring property prices in London, we compare homes on the Exhibition Estate with those in Hampstead Garden Suburb.

This fabulous four bedroom detached home within the Exhibition Estate of Gidea Park boasts beautifully landscaped front and rear gardens and a conservatory which overlooks the magnificent grounds. The property also features a kitchen, breakfast room, dining room, utility room, study and an enormous living room, perfect for entertaining. While this home is on the market for £1,000,000, a similar four bedroom house in Hampstead Garden Suburb is currently on the market for £2,650,000. The estate is situated just 0.6 miles from Gidea Park railway station which offers trains to Liverpool Street in less than half an hour.

This five bedroom home in the Exhibition Estate offers excellent value, on the market at £895,000. Meanwhile a similar property in Hampstead Garden Suburb would cost closer to £3,500,000.
