Kimberley Money is the Branch Manager at Beresfords in Harold Wood.

With 35 years of experience in the travel and property industries, she brings a wealth of knowledge to her role. Kimberley is known for her positive attitude, strong work ethic, and passion for helping people.

We asked her a few questions about her job and whether she has any tips for those moving to the Harold Wood area.

What inspired you to pursue a career in an estate agency?

I thoroughly enjoy helping people and love houses, so it seemed like I would enjoy each day at work.

What is the most valuable piece of career advice anyone ever gave you?

Never assume and always keep in touch with the motivated vendors. The job is like a game of ‘snakes and ladders’ so plenty of highs and low, but to keep a level head regardless. With every set back, comes greater opportunities. It is not worth being downcast when you get rejected.

Can you tell us more about your role and what you do?

Having over 20 years of the local property market means that I can assist them with getting the best price possible, with the great marketing we have at Beresford’s and the excellent local office supplying us with quality applicants for their property.

What is your favourite part of your role?

Meeting people and viewing lovely properties.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to enter the industry?

Be like a Rhino, as a tough skin comes with the job.

Also, it’s a contact sport, so the activity numbers equal results.

How would you describe the current real estate market in your branch area?

We are lucky to be on the Elizabeth Line, it really does provide us with plenty of potential buyers.

What trends are you seeing in buyer behaviour right now?

Buyers are quietly cautious, with a lot of mortgage valuations not taking place ‘in person’ more buyers are getting their own surveyors booked in.

Are there any neighbourhoods or properties that are gaining popularity?

Buyers seem to love properties with great E.P.C. ratings and green credentials like solar panels.

What common misconceptions do clients have about the buying/selling process?

We try and have straight forward conversations with our buyers from the first point of contact to manage their expectations on the ‘journey’ ahead.

What advice would you give to first-time home buyers in Harold Wood?

To think of the seller’s viewpoint on things and put themselves in the best possible place to get the sellers wanting them as their buyers. Our sellers want to sell with someone who is fully committed and an excellent communicator.

For those looking to sell their home in Harold Wood, what are the key steps they should take to prepare?

To spend time getting their property ready for photos and viewings, to de-clutter, deep clean and refresh as much as possible. Clear out their junk now… why spend money moving clutter.
