Thames Chase Forest Centre, Broadfields Farm, Pike Ln, Upminster RM14 3NS
An easy 13-minute drive from Harold Wood is Thames Chase Forest Centre set in Thames Chase Community Forest. Here you’ll find a café, shop and historic farm buildings, and beautifully managed trails, ponds, meadows and an orchard. Entertain kids with adventure trails and natural play areas or try something new yourself. Nordic Walking has become very popular, while this is also the perfect place to join a guided wellbeing event.
Somewhat a secret gem of Harold Wood, The Manor is yet another superb spot to get outdoors and enjoy nature. The original house is now overgrown but the site includes Hatters Wood, Fir Wood, Duck Wood and popular Dagnam Park, providing a range of habitats and animals to spot. Keep an eye out for deer and be sure to stroll round the ponds to see beautiful insects and birds enjoying these oases.
