Jessica Roche is the Branch Manager at Beresfords in Billericay.
We asked her a few questions about her job and whether she has any tips for those moving to the Billericay area.
I think my main role is making sure the team are happy so that the client's experience is as personable as it possibly can be. I will always negotiate the offers to get the best possible price for our sellers. Ultimately, we aim to maintain our number one position in the Billericay market and demonstrate to the community that we are there to help them with their moves as thoroughly as we can.
I can’t lie, I completely fell into estate agency, and I am so glad I did. I love architecture and the fact that it was such a forward-facing job.
They said never chase a commission, chase a good review for a job well done and you will never have to chase a commission in your life.
I love making the team happy, seeing them do well, and I love negotiating an offer to make sure I have got the very best price for the seller.
Stick at it. If you put the groundwork into making this your career you can be very successful, and it can be very rewarding. Be 100% yourself and always be honest.
I feel Billericay is stable now. We have a wide range of prices, and we are seeing activity across the board. People generally move up and down the market and don’t tend to leave Billericay.
Again, going back to the above, we always see people moving in and around CM12 and CM11.
Norsey Road is a timeless classic and probably the most famous road of Billericay. People also like Queens Park a lot more nowadays, where they are getting more property for their money.
1. The internet sells it.
2. The process takes around 3 months.
Come in and meet the team. We want you to know exactly who to call the moment that perfect property comes to the market. It’s also important to sit down with our broker. Having someone with access to the whole market is vital. While you might know a family friend in the industry or have always banked with a certain lender, that doesn’t necessarily mean they can offer you the best deal.
Invite a few agents to view your home and see who demonstrates how they’ve arrived at their pricing, rather than simply telling you a figure.
Choose the agent you trust the most. Selling your home is a huge responsibility, often involving hundreds of thousands of pounds, and the cheapest option isn’t always the best. Also, take recommendations for a good solicitor seriously. Having one who is fully available and communicates well is crucial, especially in the final six weeks of your transaction.
