Alex Beresford

Managing Director, Beresfords

Bringing the Beresford into Country & Village, Alex Beresford follows in the success of Essex’s largest family-owned independent estate agents, successfully operating for more than 50 years. Having stepped into almost every area of Essex, Alex brings a wealth of knowledge of large country homes to the Country & Village team and understands more than most, the sales process and many hurdles than can face complex negotiations and the sales process. Alex also manages the sales branches, training and marketing side of the business.

Alex grew up in Fryerning and now lives in Shenfield with many friends and acquaintances from his school years in Brentwood.

Based at Beresfords head office in Chelmsford, Alex travels the length and breadth of the County specifically the central and north Essex areas, undertaking valuations and liaising with high end clients.

Jane Mann

Regional Manager, Country & Village

Having worked in the leafy villages of the Essex borders and Hertfordshire covering a multi-branch network of premium estate agency offices, Jane Mann moved into the commuter hotspot of Shenfield which lies at the end of the Elizabeth line. Here Jane covered the surrounding villages, rural areas and other Essex towns proving so popular with London buyers.

Jane’s experience with high-end country properties and love of all things ‘character’ is complemented with her personable approach and her dedication to provide a professional service for clients of Beresfords Country & Village. Covering the many varied rural and semi-rural locations across Essex including historic villages, Conservation Areas and commuter-favourites, understanding and appreciating the history connected to these unique properties comes naturally to Jane as she lives in a Grade II Listed property herself. And Jane would profess that the best part of the job is the people… “helping an elderly couple move from their large country home, to be nearer their family and helping to ease the stresses of moving, that is the best part for me”. As one happy client said “true professionals whom all agents should aspire to benchmark themselves against”.

Jane enjoys interior design, travel, her family and is based at our Ingatestone Country Homes office covering the southern and central part of the County.

Janet Hockley

Sales & Marketing Administrator, Country & Village

Having worked in many property spheres, Janet Hockley, brings a wealth of knowledge to the Country & Village team, having worked in the sales and marketing areas of large corporates down to small design agencies, sign manufacturers and estate agency groups. Janet combines her knowledge of marketing and customer service and can be found copywriting property brochures, co-ordinating advertising, sales administration and generally supporting the busy team at Beresfords Country & Village or assisting the marketing team at Head Office.

Previously Janet has managed a Farm Shop and lived on a small farm where she enjoyed her gun dogs and other pets including horses and ducks and is also a qualified dog groomer completing Courses at Writtle Agricultural College. Janet’s days off are usually with her four-legged clients, gardening or spending time with friends. Her base office for Country & Village is Ingatestone.
