The Beresfords and Ingatestone & District Camera Club Photographic Competition

28th May 2021

Called for short: the Beresfords Photo Competition (BPC).

Ingatestone & District Camera Club for short: IDCC.

The prize: a 150 photography voucher.

How it Works:

Each year in April or May (just before the end of IDCC's season, so that members also have the summer to shoot) the Beresfords Ingatestone Branch manager sets a subject, for 2021/22 it is Signs of a village.

Beresfords may give some direction, for example for activities in any village in Essex and they are looking for creativity in how the subject is portrayed. In April of the following year (so April 2022 for the example above) Beresfords Marketing Manager will judge the entries at a club evening and declare a winner, who wins the prize.

As part of the judging evening Beresfords Marketing Manager will describe what they are looking for in a commercial image and may announce what the next year's subject is.

Copyright:

Copyright of the pictures entered remain with the authors, but Beresfords have a free perpetual license from the authors to use the images for their publicity purposes. When Beresfords use a picture, they will credit the author and IDCC.

By entering the contest, entrants agree that photos submitted can be used by Beresfords for advertising purposes. Beresfords will not share mages with third parties without consent.

General Rules:

Only members of IDCC are eligible to enter and they can enter up to 3 entries.

All photos must be original work, taken by the entrants. No third party may own or control any materials the photo contains, and the photo must not infringe upon the trademark, copyright, moral rights, intellectual rights, or rights of privacy of any entity or person.

Entries will be judged by Beresfords. All decisions are final. Beresfords reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is deemed inappropriate or does not conform to stated contest rules.

Submissions will not be accepted once the deadline lapses.

The prize must be collected by the winner and will be a voucher for £150 for the winner to spend at a retail outlet such as Camera World Chelmsford.

All images must be digital.

Image size: The maximum size of the images should be 1920 pixels wide by 1080 pixels high.

All entries must be previously unpublished photographs.

Images must not have previously been entered into any IDCC or other photo competitions.

Photos need not have been taken in the competition year 2021/22.

Photograph filenames should include the letter BPC 2122, followed the author's name and the image number in brackets, for example BPC 2122 John Smith (1). You should give the image a title in its title box in properties.

Entries must be submitted by 11:59pm (GMT) on the 1st February 2022 to be considered by the judges.
