Spring market off to a good start Paul Beresford reports

Bank holidays traditionally see a surge in buyer and seller activity, and the Easter break has marked the start of a busy few months for the property market in Essex.

With the promise of warmer weather (or so we’re told) and lighter evenings making house hunting more appealing, the number of properties coming onto our books has increased by over 25%, while buyers registering their interest has grown by over 50%.

Potential buyers out viewing also increased by over 40%, as did the number of valuations that our offices carried out.

Many buyers will be eager to move into a new home in time to enjoy the summer, with families also needing to relocate before the start of the school term in September.

Beresfords is keen to show off the quality and range of property in the South East’s most popular home county and will be showcasing a selection at its first ever Country and Prestige Property Exhibition on the 27th May at Boreham House, Chelmsford.

Beresfords will also be accompanied by leading estate agents from Suffolk, Norfolk, Hertfordshire, Lincolnshire, and Cambridgeshire, all of whom will showcase the finest properties their respective counties have to offer.

Set within 35 acres and a popular wedding venue, Boreham House is not usually open to the public so it’s a chance to have a peak inside while you plan your next move.

To whet your appetite, here are two properties from our website currently available in Essex that will be on display at the Country and Prestige Property Exhibition. With three more bank holidays to come we expect a busy few months ahead.

Overlooking one of the county’s most picturesque greens, Aubyns is a Grade II listed four bedroom detached house in Writtle.

On the market for £1.225 million, the extremely spacious property has a wealth of exposed wood beams, three reception rooms and a beautiful south-facing walled garden with views of the historic All Saints’ Church.

Tradewinds in Billericay is a five bedroom detached house with nearly 5,000sq ft of living space and is on the market for £2.5million.

Boasting a grand entrance hall with a galleried landing, pool complex and snooker room, the property is perfect for entertaining.
