Signs are Good for Property Sales Beresfords Market Share grows by 48%

By the Beresfords Marketing Team

Recent reports by a number of leading associations highlights that the status of the UK property market is continuing to improve. Recent Land Registry figures showcased that house prices have risen month-on-month for the first time in a year and a half.

Positive signs are most certainly appearing in Essex with Beresfords witnessing their level of new business increase dramatically since the beginning of the year. Last month new business was up 145% compared to the same period in 2008.

What’s more according to the latest Land Registry figures Beresfords market share has increased by 48% (comparing April – June 2008 figures against April – June 2009).

Paul Beresford comments: “The Land Registry figures are very encouraging and highlight that consumer confidence is returning to the market. These figures are seen as the most authoritative in the industry as they measure change in prices by recording completed sales rather than mortgage data.”

“The housing market has been showing signs of stabilising in recent months, activity from buyers and sellers continue to increase which is very encouraging. Sellers are being pleasantly surprised by the speed at which they are selling and the price levels being achieved. Buyers have also welcomed news from the Council of Mortgage Lenders’ who recently announced that mortgage lending for house purchases showed its first significant increase since early 2007 in July.”

“Particularly positive market indications also include the continued presence of first time buyers which was up 36% in August according to the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA). This is the sector that often forms the basis of chains and if sustained will lead to a general improvement in the housing market. With increased buyer activity and the number of properties being sold across Essex on the rise we are currently witnessing a far greater need for further properties to come to the market.”

Paul concludes with a comment as to why he believes Beresfords has witnessed such a dramatic rise in their market share: “Whilst many companies have stopped advertising and cut back on their marketing, we have continued to advertise, publish our Residential Magazine twice yearly which is distributed to over 249,000 homes across Essex, produce our highly successful Essex Homes and Style magazine and launch our very own internet TV station, Beresfords.tv. We believe these factors have helped generate thousands of extra enquiries that cannot be achieved without that major commitment to marketing. We will continue to always strive to be in the forefront of marketing initiatives that will benefit our clients across the group.”
