Close up of brass detailing on front door - Dedham - Beresfords Estate agents - Essex

Are you sitting on a pot of gold?

By The Beresfords Marketing Team - 18 July 2011

Essex’s commutability to London has meant that for centuries it has been popular for builders as people move out from the capital.

That remains as true today with Beresfords Land and New Homes division constantly getting enquiries from developers for land. Some of the best opportunities aren’t necessarily obvious sites for new houses. For example quite often, planners will consider redundant commercial land for new homes especially if it is in a residential where it could be considered an improvement to the local environment.

An example is a former coach depot on the fringe of Havering which had been a long standing family business for over 50 years, though in recent years it was mostly used for the storage of heavy plant and machinery.

It achieved huge interest when Beresfords marketed it recently and the owners have agreed a very favourable deal subject to planning with a developer for an attractive development of houses in place of an unattractive commercial yard with coaches coming and going.
