  • Creative Crafters ‘Tudors’ at Chelmsford Museum, 10th August

If arts and crafts are your little ones favourite task then head along to the Creative Crafters at Chelmsford Museum where they can be inspired by the Tudor displays and create their own heraldic to take home.

  • Summer late night at Colchester Zoo, 12th August

As the heat of the day subsides, this is a great chance to watch animals like the Amur leopards, Amur tigers, Hyenas and Anteaters spring to life in the cool evening air long after visitors would have normally have gone home. Anyone wanting to unwind after the long day can sit by the lake with a nice cool drink or take advantage of the relaxing environment at our table service restaurant, The Patisserie, where you can enjoy an indulgent treat or even a glass of wine.

  • Little Mix Experience, Hornchurch, 16th August

  • Smoke & fire festival, Maldon, 19th August

The Maldon Smoke & Fire Festival will allow you to taste, smell, discover and learn about all kinds of US-style low ’n’ slow BBQ’ing grilling, smoking, meats and specialities from around the globe.You will also find plenty of the exhibitors wanting to show off their latest BBQ kit, and maybe even let you sample some of their cooking!

  • Animal Aid Festival, Herongate Cricket Field, Brentwood, 20th August

Very popular family fun day and festival including craft stalls, live bands, singers, dog competitions, dog show, children’s entertainments, raffles, food, drink etc - All proceeds to small animal rescues.
