Find events in Essex for the whole family to enjoy.  Here are our highlights of things to do in the area over the next couple of weeks.

  • Whitney – Queen of the Night at The Civic Theatre, Chelmsford, 14th October

A stunning celebration of the music and life of one of the greatest singers of our time. Taking you on a magical rollercoaster ride through three decades of classic hits that include, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, One Moment In Time, I’m Every Woman, Greatest Love of All, and many more. The show beautifully remembers the most highly awarded female artiste in the world.

  • Writtle Art Group Exhibition at Writtle Village Hall, 15th & 16th October

Visit the Writtle Village Hall on the 15th and 16th October to see the amazing art created by the members of the Writtle art group throughout the year! You can buy some lovely pieces and these well attended events contribute to the lively social events occurring throughout the year. Also have a look out for our Beresford boards supporting this event!

  • Fright Nights! at Colchester Zoo, Colchester, from 22nd October

For those that are brave enough to stay after dark, Colchester Zoo also is hosting a number of Fright nights with extended late night openings!

Dare you stay on into the evening and face the ghosts and ghouls that take over the zoo or step foot in the Haunted Mansion? With the return of the infamous Terror Train plus many more spine chilling events this really is your Best Nightmare!

  • Autumn Apple Day at Bedfords Park Visitor Centre, Romford, 23rd October

Head along for all things Autumn in the visitor centre. There will be local craft tables, cake stall, local apples and juice to buy, as well as children’s activities. Plus there will be a themed trail in the park and naturally the park will be brimming with Autumnal charm. Free admission, donation required for children’s activities and trail.

  • Wizards and Witches Halloween Festival at Marsh Farm, South Woodham Ferrers, 24th – 31st October

The family fun event Wizards & Witches will have your little monsters entertained all day! Meet Cello the wizard as he searches the farm for missing potion ingredients for his trick or treat spell! Spell-makers challenge trail, spooky craft activities and meet some spooky (not scary!) characters along the way!
