  • Potato Picking Party at Marsh Farm, South Woodham Ferrers, throughout September

Teach your children about the journey of ‘farm to fork’ and where their food comes from this September at the Potato Picking Party!

Celebrating Marsh Farm’s 32nd Birthday they invite you to go and get muddy in the Potato Field with Farmer Ferrers and friends. Dig for yummy potatoes then take them home to make some yummy dinner, exciting spud men or print stamps!

  • Small Trains Day at East Anglian Railway Museum, Colchester, 2nd October

They will be celebrating all small trains at this exciting event on Sunday 2nd October. The Victorian Goods Shed will play host to an impressive layout of N and 00 gauge as well as a large gauge 1 live steam layout which fills most of this huge space.

  • The Sensational 60s Experience at Civic Theatre, Chelmsford, 6th October

Returning by huge popular demand, for one night only.

Seven legendary names take to the stage and deliver to you a night never to be forgotten. With the definite feel good factor this is must see 60’s show for 2016.   • Discovery Centre Stargazing at Great Notley Country Park, Braintree, 8th October

Observe planets, constellations and deep-sky objects through telescopes, with North Essex Astronomy Group on hand to answer questions and give advice about how to start out with astronomy. Everyone is welcome, there’s no need to book and the event is free.

  • Ingatestone Musical and Operetta Group presents Carousel, Ingatestone Community Club 6th-8th October
