One of many events commemorating the 1st World war. A great chance to see vintage planes in action and learn about the 1st World War at a venue that was involved in the conflict and is believed to be the most intact WWI airfield in Europe.

A day of music and entertainment in Valentines Mansion and the surrounding grounds, venue for the Great British Bake Off. Many varied art and craft stalls, historical societies and attractions for all ages.
Bardfield Garage Sale
Saturday 10th May 2014 12 noon onwards.
Everyone is welcome to join the villagers of Great Bardfield for their annual village garage sale held in aid of the Great Bardfield After School Club. In 2013 there were over 65 houses taking part, selling a huge variety of items, you could even buy the kitchen sink! A map showing all the sellers will be available on the day from the After School Club table on the green, or just spot the red balloons. There will be refreshments available as well.
Saffron Walden Tudor Market
From Friday 9th to Sunday 11th May there will be a special themed Tudor Market with costumed stallholders selling traditional fayre (food, drink, textiles, crafts), to commemorate 500 years since the 1514 Charter was granted to Saffron Walden by Henry VIII There should be lots of Tudor style goods on sale.

The ‘Walk for Life’ is a sponsored event. Two scenic routes to choose from (a 23km walk from Heybridge to Chelmsford which sets off between 8.30am and 10.30am, and a shorter 10.5km walk from Paper Mill Lock to Chelmsford which starts between 9.30am – midday)
