Marigold Charters Tide Sail

Hythe Quay, Maldon

4 May, 11am – 3pm

Sit back and relax or get involved with sailing Marigold. Tea and coffee provided. Please bring your own lunch. Marigold has no engine so finishing times are approximate. Marigold Charters offer a variety of day charters sailing out of Maldon on the river Blackwater.

Marigold is kept on a mooring off the Promenade Park and is safely reached by our 20 foot motor launch ‘Venture’.Guests are invited to get involved with the sailing and handling of the boat as much or as little as they want. Whether helping to sail or just sitting back and watching the world go by, Marigold Charters  aim to give you a great days adventure out on the water. There is generally plenty of bird life, occasionally seals and porpoises, and lots of other classic craft such as Thames Barges to look at.

Should guests wish to experience working the boat whilst fishing under sail, Marigold is equipped with various trawls, dredges, drift and gill nets, a variety of techniques can be tried depending on time of year. It is not necessary to have any previous sailing or boating experience but guests should be reasonably fit in order to climb aboard and move around safely on deck.
