Head along to Colchester Castle Museum to see how it works behind the scenes, it’s a very special sneak peek.

  • Mini Beast Madness at Cressing Temple Barns, Witham, 17th August

Join a Ranger hunting for the amazing bugs and beasties that live around the park. What will you discover? Feel free to bring along your own bug hunting kit or use the items provided. Arrive early for a picnic lunch and explore the fascinating Word War II trail.

  • Colour Vibe 5K Run at Wild Forest Gym, Brentwood, 20th August

Join the colour vibe run and be the canvas! Be blasted with colour at several points throughout the run making this one of the most fun ways to fundraise for St Clare Hospice!

  • Ultimate Inflatables Week at Barleylands, Billericay, 22nd – 26th August

Discover huge inflatables in the Farm Park including bouncy castles, slides, a jungle run and take the space hopper challenge. There will also be lots of extra activities to join in including decorating (and eating!) a biscuit. Plus, as always the farmyard fun continues with a full timetable of animals and play activities.

  • Beatrix Potter on the Back Lawn at Hylands House and Estate, Chelmsford, 28th August

In celebration of 150 years of Beatrix Potter, meet the lady herself as she tells the tale of naughty Peter and his cousin Benjamin as they venture into Mr MacGregor's garden…

Bring a picnic and enjoy Michael Whitemore's delightful retelling of Beatrix Potter's best-loved tales. A treat for all the family!
