VE Day 75th Anniversary - Thank you

By Lizzy Drewett - 07 May 2020

"Never was so much owed by so many to so few" - Winston Churchill

A war time sentiment from the great Winston Churchill that resonates with the 21st Century battle we’re fighting, not only as a nation but as the world. Today, we remember those who stood brave and saw us through WWII and we honour those today, from great organisations like the NHS to individuals like Thomas Moore, or Captain Tom as he is better known, who are helping us to, once again, be triumphant.

On Friday 8th May, it will mark 75 years since the guns fell silent at the end of WWII.

While your plans for celebrating VE Day may have changed, there are still things you can do today to express thanks and celebrate while at home. The Royal British Legion is calling on people across the UK to join in a moment of reflection and Remembrance at 11am on Friday 8th May plus wearing red, white and blue or creating some simple bunting to decorate your home with are all fun ways to celebrate the occasion.

We've found a few resources to help you celebrate from the comfort and safety of your home and keep the kids entertained!
