In exciting news for Essex commuters, the first of the new Crossrail trains will enter passenger service within a matter of weeks on the TfL Rail route between London Liverpool Street and Shenfield.
The milestone is the first stage of the phased introduction of the new service which will be named the Elizabeth line when it opens throughout central London in December 2018.
Crossrail will transform rail transport in London and the south east by increasing central London rail capacity up to 10%, with services set to run from Reading and Heathrow in the west through the central tunnels to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east.
Property investment in Essex has already been impacted with house prices rocketing in areas close to an Elizabeth Line station, such as Gidea Park, Brentwood and Shenfield.
