Local attractions in Essex that are now open
After being closed for the months throughout lockdown, Colchester Zoo is now back up and running! Pre-booking is required as are face coverings in all indoor areas but other than that, you're free to peruse the beautiful animals as normal! Many local attractions are relying on the support of the public to remain open so if you can make a visit, you'd not only be helping the business but keeping the animals in their homes too.
Barleylands is another attraction which is now back open. Located near Billericay, it makes a fantastic day out for children of all ages. Pre-booking is also required at Barleylands so make sure you don't miss out!
Marsh Farm has a range of events ideal for all the family. The Children's Bubble 'n Bop Festival is running until 4th September and includes a full schedule to keep the little ones busy!
Jump Street - Chelmsford and Colchester
If you haven't been to Jump Street before, it's full of giant trampolines where you can play games and they also have activities like climbing and total wipeout! They have safety measures in place and they are taking limited bookings to avoid going to full capacity.
RHS Hyde Hall
Hyde Hall is a great day out for the family. From beautiful gardens to walk round peacefully to the shop and areas of learning and competitions to get involved with.
