Exploring your surroundings

By Terry Holmes - 01 May 2020

If the current restrictions have taught us anything it is how much we value, or should value, the space around us. There is little doubt that from now on when we're looking to move home, we’ll take much more account of where a property is rather than just what it is.

In Essex, we’re blessed with some fantastic country parks, rolling farmland crossed by footpaths, disused rail lines that are now beautiful country tracks, bracing sea fronts and remote river and coastal paths that make you think you are in the middle of nowhere.

Essex has it all, you just need to know where to look...

So, when you are viewing a property, why not tap into the local knowledge of the seller or tenant and ask them for their top tips on places to walk, run or bike nearby?

Here are our favourite websites where you can find a wide choices of routes to follow, probably some very near to you that you never knew existed!

Oh, and there’s also a useful free app called Cyclemeter (it’s just as good for running and walking) that will tell you how far, how long and how fast.
