Demand for property surges to new high!

08 May 2014

Crowds gathered outside Beresfords Chelmsford branch as rumours spread that a new property was about to come onto the market reflecting the exceptional demand for homes in the city!

Ok we admit it may have been something to do with the Queen’s visit on Tuesday as well!! But there’s no disguising the fact that in Chelmsford and other areas of Essex, there’s a surge of interest from buyers.

At the moment we have over 6,000 buyers looking for their ideal home and we now have 12 buyers for every property on the market. At the moment our sales branches are arranging around 3,000 viewings a month and in April we agreed sales of over £80 million worth of property in Essex highlighting that what is coming onto the market is selling and selling quickly.

This growth in demand is partly linked to new government backed incentives, such as Help to Buy which has renewed confidence in the market but positive sentiment but has also been bolstered by the continued investment in Essex, such as London Gateway and Crossrail and town centre regeneration with ‘blue chip’ retailers such as Waitrose and John Lewis opening up across the county.
