Confidence up VAT down for our customers - reports Paul Beresford

By Paul Beresford - 22 January 2013

Hot on the heels of our first Essex homebuyer survey which showed soaring confidence in the market, Halifax has revealed that mortgages are at their most affordable for a decade.

That’s since 2002, when the Euro currency first came into being and Brazil last won the World Cup…

The building society also reported that homeowners in the South East now spend on average just 34% of their take home pay on mortgage repayments compared to 56% five years ago.

Halifax has attributed this to more affordable house prices and reduced mortgage rates, something Essex buyers also fed back to us in our recent survey.

To give homeowners a further boost we have also reintroduced our popular 0% VAT offer to help save you money when selling your home.

The offer is available to homeowners and landlords looking to sell or let a property who instruct us before 31st March.

Many homeowners are often tempted to delay a move until Spring but by acting now you could be settled in your new dream home by then, with money left over to spend on a house warming.

If you needed any more reasons to instruct Beresfords, who have 44 years’ experience in Essex, you can read more about our history and awards here.
