Christmas comes early to Ingatestone

12 December 2013

The annual Ingatestone Christmas event, which was once known as the Victorian Evening, took place on Friday 6th December after being carefully rebranded to the ‘Christmas Festival.’ As with previous years, the event was extremely well attended and fun was had by all.

Denise Morris, Beresfords Branch Manager, has an active role to play in the organisation of the event and helped bring festive cheer to the office as Mother Christmas.

Denise of course had ‘Santa’s little helpers’ alongside her namely a snowman, Rudolph and fellow Mother Christmas’. A big thank you must go to Tina Dyer, Boston Mace, Sophie Gould, Barbara Linnell and Suzanne Polley who helped Denise, both during the run up to the event and on the night itself.

Sitting alongside the festive stalls organised and run by the WI, Scouts, Brownies and Ingatestone and Fryerning Parish Youth Council, new attractions were introduced this year including food stalls, musical entertainment, human statues, stilt walkers, reindeer, Punch and Judy and dance troupes.

The much loved events which take place around the Church and in the High Street, such as carol singing by the Choral Society, Bell Ringing, The Anglo European School Orchestra and the ‘live’ crib, remained.

Roll on the Christmas Festival 2014!
